Just down the road from The Woodlands, you’ll find a beautiful resort nestled in the hill country – the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort and Spa. In a little over two hours in the car, you’ll find yourself practically in another world, away from the hustle and bustle of north Houston. The serene setting amongst the tall trees and nearby river automatically relaxes you the moment you arrive.
The grand lodge entryway is breathtaking, with its enormous wood fireplaces, luxurious seating areas, and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the grounds. At check in, you can register for all sorts of events and activities – everything from archery lessons to a round of golf on the 18 hole course on property. You can borrow bicycles to venture out on the trails, or just hike down by the river’s edge. Adventurous types can kayak on the river or participate in a zip line/climbing wall activity.
If you want to relax, float the lazy river in the huge pool complex or unwind at the adults-only pool. Kids will enjoy the waterslides, splash pads and play structure in the Crooked River Water Park family pool area. There is also a playground if you’re visiting during cooler months.
You can still get your workout in while on vacation at the 24-hour StayFit gym that has the latest fitness equipment. The Spa Django offers a wide variety of services, including therapeutic massage, herbal therapies, facials and body treatments.
Animal lovers will appreciate the petting zoo and viewing the longhorn cattle that roam a field adjacent to the hotel. Horseback rides are also offered at nearby Renegade Trail Head, while on-site pony rides are available. There is a lush butterfly garden perfect for relaxing or hunting down “treasures” with the little ones. A larger-scale treasure hunt is part of the Hyatt Hidden Treasure Trek that’s fun for families and friends. Using a GPS device, participants will be guided through the natural beauty of the resort grounds while solving puzzles along the way.
With several restaurants on the property, you’ll be sure to find something for everyone’s tastes. Book a reservation at Major Neighbors Grill for a quiet date night, or grab a meal pool-side at Old Buck’s Place. Several other dining options are available as well. After dinner, gather around the campfire and roast marshmallows to make yummy s’mores. Live music is performed on select nights, also.
With so much to do, you and your family will love a little vacation getaway at Lost Pines!
